Center for Environmental Studies will participate in Latin-American Congress of Sea Sciences

Since the 13th edition of the Latin-American Congress of Sea Sciences "COLACMAR 2009" is soon to be celebrated, the specialists from Cienfuegos Center for Environmental Studies (spanish CEAC) are already getting ready to participate in conferences, poster design and exposition of their commercial results in the current year.

During the last week of October it will be possible to value in the showrooms 15 posters related to the main research lines developed by CEAC in order to provide solutions and diagnosis to the country´s environmental issues.

Under the Congress´ motto: "Sea Sciences, integration for development", the CEAC will take advantage of the situation to present the results of its project of "application of nuclear techniques for the solution of problems related to the integrated management of coastal zones in the Caribbean".

This project constitutes a sample of regional integration from a scientific point of view directed to give solutions to issues that now-a-days affect the coastal communities, departing from the use of nuclear techniques, with the support of the Atomic Energy International Organization, which will also be present in the event.

Aside form the nine symposiums in which COLACMAR has been divided into, the Conventions Palace will host the 8th Congress of Sea Sciences "MARCUBA" and the 4th International Workshop "FISHING 2009" (Spanish PESCA 2009).
